Cookie Policy

Which entries this website keeps in your browser and how you can change your decision.

Last updated

This policy explains how artivory uses cookies and similar storage technologies on artivory.net: which categories are involved, how your choice is recorded in the browser and how it can be changed later.

About cookies and browser storage

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device so that it can tell your browser apart from others and keep settings between visits. Browsers also offer a local storage area that holds entries in a similar way; whenever this policy speaks of cookies, such entries are included.

Consent and the cookie notice

If a notice is displayed and browser storage is available, it saves nothing but your choice, consent or refusal, in the local storage of the current browser (localStorage) and then stays hidden. On a different browser or device it appears once more, because the value was never stored there, and it returns where storage is blocked.

Advertising, tracking and personal data

This website uses no advertising cookies, no marketing pixels and no trackers that follow you to other sites, and nothing about your visit is sold or passed on for advertising. Where an entry can be linked to a person, our privacy policy explains the grounds, the storage periods and your rights.

Categories used on this website

artivory.net is an information site: there is no customer account and no checkout, so only a few entries are needed. The strictly necessary category covers what the pages and the server require to work safely, including any entry that records an answer to a cookie notice, and, under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), it does not depend on consent.

The server that delivers this website sets one cookie of this kind. It contains only a random value, nothing that identifies you by name, and serves to recognise a returning browser and to protect the site against automated abuse. The cookie is renewed whenever you come back and is deleted 30 days after your last visit.

Withdrawing your consent and deleting cookies

You can withdraw an earlier consent at any time, just as easily as you gave it: delete the data this website has stored in your browser and open a page again, and the saved answer is gone. Every common browser also has settings for cookies and site data, where stored entries can be viewed and removed.

Storage periods

Some entries exist only while the browser window is open; others are given a defined lifetime so that a preference survives until the next visit. An answer recorded by a cookie notice is not set to expire and remains until you delete it or your browser clears it.

Updates to this policy and questions

Whenever the technology behind artivory.net changes or new rules require it, this policy is updated, and the current version, with the date of its last revision, is always the one published here. If something is unclear, write to hello@artivory.net or call 01823 947 4398.
