Accessibility

What we do so that this website works for everyone, and how to tell us about a problem.

Last updated
22 October 2026

artivory wants artivory.net to be usable by as many people as possible, including visitors who rely on assistive technology. This statement describes the measures taken, the limitations we are aware of and how to reach us.

Our commitment

At artivory, accessible pages are part of everyday maintenance rather than an extra. Each new page and each change of design is checked so that text stays readable, the menu can be used without a mouse and no information depends on a single visual cue. The statement applies to artivory.net only.

Feedback

Please report any accessibility problem by email to hello@artivory.net or by telephone on 01823 947 4398. A short note on the page, the difficulty and the device or assistive technology involved helps us reproduce the fault; we usually reply within five working days and explain what we will do about it.

Known limitations

Several illustrations are generic, and their alternative text names the subject without describing it in detail.

Measures taken

Pages use semantic HTML: headings follow one order, lists are marked up as lists, and link texts stay meaningful out of context. Navigation and main content form separate regions, and the language of each page is declared for screen readers. Images that carry information have alternative texts, decorative ones are marked as such.

Text, links and buttons are shown with a contrast of at least 4.5 to 1 against their background. Sizes are set in relative units, so text can be enlarged in the browser without content being cut off, and links, menus and form fields can be used with the keyboard alone.

Information in another form

The website is not the only way to get information from artivory. You can call us on 01823 947 4398 during business hours, write to hello@artivory.net or send a letter to 14 Canal Wharf Road, Taunton TA1 1QD; if a page does not work for you, we can read its content to you by telephone or send it as plain text.

Conformance

Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We describe the site as partially conformant, because some pages or elements still fall short of individual success criteria. Pages are reviewed regularly and problems are corrected as they are found; until then the same information is offered in another form.

Preparation and review

The present statement was prepared on 22 October 2026 on the basis of our own internal assessment. We inspected the principal page types with a keyboard, at an increased zoom setting and with a screen reader; no external audit was commissioned. The statement is reviewed once a year and after any substantial change to the website.
