What we do

Five areas of studio work, from first plan to live transmission

artivory covers the practical side of a live studio. We plan and install equipment, operate cameras, design lighting, set up sound and talkback, and map out the workflow for each show. You can take one area or combine several, depending on where your studio needs support.

  1. Studio Equipment Setup

Planning and installing cameras, mounts, cabling and monitoring so a news or live studio is ready to broadcast.

  2. Camera Operation

Experienced camera operators for news bulletins and live shows, with smooth moves and tidy framing.

  3. Studio Lighting Design

Lighting plots that flatter presenters, suit the set and stay consistent across long live programmes.

  4. Sound and Audio Workflow

Microphone placement, mixing desk set-up and talkback routing for clean sound in live broadcasts.

  5. Live Show Workflow Planning

Rundowns, cue sheets and crew roles mapped out so every live show runs to a clear, repeatable plan.

Tell us about your studio, your programme format and your crew, and we will outline which services fit before any quotation is written.

Services
  1. A studio ready to broadcast

Cameras, mounts, cabling and monitoring are installed to a plan. Crew know where everything is, and faults are easier to trace when something drifts during a long day.

  2. Consistent look on air

Lighting plots are built for the set and the presenters. The picture stays even from the first bulletin to the last live link, without constant adjustment.

  3. Clean sound, clear talkback

Microphones are placed with the set in mind and talkback is routed so everyone hears the right feed. Viewers get clear audio and the crew can work quietly.

  4. Shows that follow a plan

Rundowns, cue sheets and crew roles are written down and rehearsed. New team members can pick up the routine, and live changes are handled without confusion.

Who we work with

Teams that put a live programme on air

Our work suits anyone responsible for a studio that has to perform on a schedule. Some teams are building a space from bare walls, others are tidying a workflow that has grown awkward. The needs differ, but the pressure of live transmission is common to all.

  • Television news broadcasters

Need studios that turn around bulletins reliably, with dependable camera positions, consistent lighting and sound that holds up through long news days.

  • Live show production teams

Need clear cue sheets, defined crew roles and equipment layouts that allow quick changes between segments without losing the thread of the programme.

  • News producers

Need a rundown that matches what the studio can physically deliver, and a gallery workflow that supports last-minute changes calmly.

  • Studio managers and technical leads

Need tidy cabling, monitoring and routing they can maintain, document and hand over to crews working different shifts.

  • Broadcasters building a new studio

Need help turning a room into a working studio, from equipment layout and lighting plot to audio chain and crew plan.

  • Teams improving an existing studio

Need a fresh look at framing, light, sound or procedure so that familiar problems stop recurring during live programmes.

How we approach the work

  1. Calm under pressure

Live television does not wait. We prepare so that when something changes on air, the crew already knows who does what, and decisions are made quietly and quickly.

  2. Clear workflows

Every show gets written rundowns, cue sheets and defined roles. A workflow that is clear on paper is far easier to repeat, hand over and improve over time.

  3. Craft first

Smooth camera moves, tidy framing, even light and clean audio come from careful practice. We care about the details that viewers never notice because they work.

FAQ

Questions we hear often

These are the points teams usually raise before getting in touch. If yours is not here, ask us through the contact page and we will answer plainly.

Can you work with a studio we have already built?
Yes. Many of our projects start with an existing studio that needs better layout, lighting, sound or workflow. We look at how the space is used, then suggest changes that fit your equipment and crew rather than starting over.
Do you only provide equipment setup, or crews as well?
We offer both. Equipment setup, lighting design, audio workflow and show planning can be taken separately, and we also supply camera operators for bulletins and live shows. You choose the combination that suits your programme.
How do we start a project with you?
Send an enquiry through the contact page describing your studio and programme. We reply to discuss scope, then confirm what is included in writing. Work begins once the quotation is agreed in writing.
Where are you based and do you travel?
We are based at 14 Canal Wharf Road, Taunton. Studio work happens at your premises, so we plan visits around your schedule and discuss any travel arrangements as part of the quotation.
Can you help us plan a live show from scratch?
Yes. Live show workflow planning covers the rundown, cue sheets and crew roles. We work through the format with your producers so the plan reflects how the show will really run on the day.
How do you handle lighting for long live programmes?
We design plots that suit the set and the presenters, then check that the look stays steady across a long broadcast. The aim is a flattering, consistent picture that needs little adjustment once the show is under way.
What do you need from us before a quotation?
A short description of the studio, the programme format, the equipment you already have and the dates you are working towards. Floor plans or photographs help, but a clear written outline is enough to begin.
How is payment arranged?
After you enquire, we send a written quotation or confirmation, followed by an invoice paid by bank transfer. Nothing is bought on the website itself. Cancellations and refunds follow our payment and refund policy.
